Houston’s Gone? We Have A Problem…

(PR) Bridgewater, NJ – The Five-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced that right-handed pitcher Ryan Houston has been signed by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and will report to Triple-A.

Houston was 2-2 with a 4.18 ERA, 37 strikeouts, and 18 saves in 28 innings pitched for the Patriots so far this season. He was selected to play in the Atlantic League All-Star Game earlier in July, where he came in relief to strikeout the only batter he faced.

He has four seasons of Triple-A experience in the Toronto Blue Jays, Houston Astros, and Milwaukee Brewers organizations.

Houston spent the 2009 season in Nashville, the Triple-A affiliate of the Brewers, and finished with a 5-4 record, a 3.62 ERA, seven saves, and 42 strikeouts in 49.2 innings pitched in 40 games played.

He has a career record of 43-41, a 4.08 ERA, and 677 strikeouts in 752.1 innings pitched in 358 games played.
