Revolution Shut Out Somerset

(PR) Bridgewater, NJ – The York Revolution defeated the Somerset Patriots 7-0 before 6,006 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday evening.

The Revolution took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning. Shortstop Ramon Castro doubled and scored on an RBI single by designated hitter Jose Herrera. Third baseman Victor Rodriguez drove home Herrera with an RBI single.

York added a run in the top of the fifth inning. Center fielder Scott Grimes singled and later scored on an RBI double by right fielder Steve Haake for a 3-0 lead.

The Revolution added four runs in the top of the seventh inning. Grimes singled, Haake singled, and Castro singled to bring home Grimes. Herrera followed with a three-run homerun (7) to make the score 7-0.

York starter Corey Thurman (7-6) got the win after tossing 5.1 scoreless innings and allowing only three hits. Somerset starter Jason Monti (2-5) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in 3.1 innings pitched.
