In-Game Updates (LIVE from the ballpark): Well, I was down on the field for an inning…and it’s already a 2-1 game in favor of Somerset.  Danny Putnam had a very deep sac fly after a Steve Moss leadoff triple.

Josh Pressley, however, would have none of this Bridgeport lead you speak of…after a two-out broken bat single by Jeff Nettles, Pressley hit a long home run to right center field to put Somerset up one.

Jason Belcher singles home a run in the second to make it 3-1, Somerset.

Josh Phelps with an RBI single in the third to make it 3-2…

Darcy is at 60 pitches and has just eight outs under his belt…not the kind of efficiency the Patriots are looking for.  He’s allowed six baserunners so far, but has pitched out of jams and Somerset takes a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the third.

If you parked past the left field fence and find a ball under your car, the odds may be that it’s the one Matt Hagen just deposited over everything.  A solo shot on a 3-1 count.  It’s 4-2, Somerset in the bottom of the fourth.

Darcy enters the 5th with 77 pitches…

That will be all for Kevin Mannix…Chris Rivera now in.  Mannix: 4 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 0 BB, 2K

Darcy’s out after five so-so innings…Jason Monti in for the sixth.  Darcy: 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 1 K

Denny Stark — you may remember him from such films as “I Lost My Mind On The Umpire Last Night” — is in to pitch the seventh inning.

Matt Reilly in to pitch the eighth for Somerset…they’re giving him every chance to cement the setup man role.  So far, he’s given up an RBI groundout to Brandon Chaves…it’s 4-3, top 8, two outs.

And one walk later, and Ryan Houston’s coming in to attempt a four out save.

Real nice at-bat there by Joe Burke…he ended it with a double that landed just inside the third base line.  He gave Somerset a much needed insurance run, and they’re up, 5-3, in the top of the 9th.

Hagen makes it 6-3 with a long double off the left field wall.  This all off of Patrick Ryan, who came in for the eighth.

Pete LaForest with a single through the right side, and it’s 7-3.  Houston will still get the save in the ninth, assuming he doesn’t completely melt down.

Houston at 93 on the stadium gun…I believe it.
